Member of the Breukelen church on 29 Sep 1682.

   "Admitted to the Dutch ch. at Flatbush on 28 Jun 1685. Her admission to the Flatbush ch. suggests an approx. date for her recent or soon to occur marriage to Thys Pietersen.", p.5
  They had 6 children according to a census of Flatbush about 1698. Only two have been identified thru baptism records.

   "...he and his brother John [Jan] were left motherless while still babies. In the Bible of my mother, Emma Garshwiler Sellers, is written this fact as told her by her great grandfather, Cornelius Luyster - that his father was left an 'orphan' as he expressed it and was raised by a 'Holland Dutchman.' Who this was we do not know. It may have been that Peter and John were taken in the home of their grandfather, Peter Wyckoff, at the death of their mother..."

   Confirms his birth WAS NOT 31 May 1761!
Peter died on 2 Dec 1826, but the records from the Mud Meeting House Cemetery has: 5 Jan 1830 on the tombstone. Marriage date "1784" is also on tombstone. THIS IS RACHEL'S STONE.  PETER'S WILL WAS PROBATED 7 JUL 1828.   Death date confirmed as 2 Dec 1826!!!
